Description

Whatever happened to dolphin and butterfly tattoos? It seems that the popularity of animal motifs waned in favor of vegetal representations inked into our skins. Poppies, roses and poison ivy seem to have grown beyond the ground and onto human bodies, being welcomed there.

This observation was put to the test of reality during a festival in the Alps in the summer of 2025 where festival goers were photographed and interviewed in order to find out what those floral representations might mean in their lives.
