This book tells the story of a pediatric cancer ward outside of Paris.

Baptiste Lignel, the photographer, spent one year documenting the daily life of this ward, showing the staff at work, as well as the patients and their families. A very close up approach, which allows the viewer to look without fear at a reality most often hidden.

Taina Tervonen, the writer, later joined him to add words to his images. She made interviews of some of the potragonists of this place. After an opening chapter about the whole ward, the following three chapters tell the stories of three individual patients, first throught their words, and then with images. Jonathan, Nicolas and Laura.

All this content was put together by the design firm "Atelier Large Design", more specificaly by Mathieu Chévara, Laurianne Mariette, et Tiphaine Massard. The final object is both true to the sensitive nature of the work, and yet screams for attention.
